Hi, I’m Terry Lee – an early fortysomething photographer based in Oxfordshire.
My plans to run the London Marathon in 2008 came to a grinding halt when I tripped on a pothole and broke my foot – well it was my fifth metatarsal also known as a Rooney!
It happened while out on a training run just five weeks before the marathon, so after months of training in all weather conditions, my marathon dream was over.
God only knows why I want to run a marathon but it’s been a goal of mine since I travelled to London as an impressionable teenager to watch the very first London Marathon in 1981.
As you can see it’s taken many years to commit to the goal – but this is the year and I’m going to do it in style.
In New York – and dressed as the king of rock and roll Elvis Presley!

I am aiming to raise £3000 for SPARKS - the children’s medical research charity based in London. www.sparks.org.uk
So I hope you enjoy my blog charting my training all the way from plaster cast to crossing the finish line in Central Park on November 1st.
If you want to donate to this fantastic charity please visit my Justgiving site www.justgiving.co.uk/terrylee
Thanks,
Terry aka Running Elvis.
